Thyme, Vulgaris

Thymus vulgaris, also known as common or garden thyme, is a fragrant, bushy, evergreen shrub native to the Mediterranean region. A member of the mint family, it's a popular culinary herb and ornamental plant. Thyme forms low mounds 6–12 inches tall and wide, with tiny, gray-green leaves and pink or purple flower clusters in early summer. Thyme thrives in warm, sunny locations with well-drained, alkaline to neutral soil.
